The Be Improv Workshops are for people who aspire to develop their individual life skills or group work skills in a safe and fun environment. These workshops are whole group participatory experiences that use improv theatre exercises and games to get us out of our heads and into the moment. Unlike individual coaching or traditional team building sessions, the Be Improv Workshops are based on group improv exercises. We will create a relaxed and safe space and use improv to explore, play and reflect on the 'a-ha' moments that emerge.

Workshops & Themes

~ How does telling a story with a partner one-word-at-a-time help you reflect on being a good listener?
~ How does passing a clap around a circle help you experience being in the moment?
~ How does it feel to hear a 'Yes, and...' versus a 'Yes, but...' when you are collaborating with others?
These are some of the questions we will dive into during these invigorating workshops that are both fun, and meaningful. We will use elements of improv to explore each theme. This is not learning how to improvise but rather using improv as a tool for personal discovery through laughter and play!

Active Listening and Communication

What makes a good listener? How does it help us connect to the world around us? Explore what it means to be an effective listener – a skill that is important in most areas of our lives. Find out how a spontaneous game called “That’s Right, Bob!” can help us be active listeners!

Be Present (In The Moment)

A fun and playful workshop to get out of our heads and into the moment. Use play to practice being aware of our bodies and impulses, learning to be more aware of what is happening around us at this very moment.

Embracing Failure

Embrace and explore failure in a fun environment. We all feel failure in our lives; what is important is how we react to it. Come play with failure in a joyful and often surprising way!

Let’s Collaborate

Explore, play and laugh together. Through trust and collaboration, we will support each other as we spontaneously create stories and memories as a group. Bring your curiosity and smile to this joyful workshop!

Say “Yes!” to Yourself

Turn "Yes, but..." into "Yes, and..."! Do you find yourself judging your own ideas and thoughts at times? How does it feel to say "Yes, and..!" rather than "Yes, but..!"? Use play to practice being kind to ourselves, trusting our instincts and saying "Yes, and.." to the world around us!

Say “Yes!” to Yourself

Storytelling (Improvised)

Improv is about discovering stories spontaneously together. Play with the skills and structures of improvised storytelling while having fun and spontaneously creating stories together. Storytelling is a skill that is applicable in our personal and professional lives.

Trust Yourself

Through fun games and exercises, practice listening to our bodies and our instincts, being self aware, and saying ‘Yes!’ to ourselves. Trusting ourselves can in turn help us build trust with the people around us.
